Como cultivar thyme?

Um guia de cultivo passo a passo, da sementeira à colheita.

pH ideal 6.5 and 7.0Temperatura ideal 4 and 28°C

Sementeira

Done in a tray with subsequent transplanting when the plant has 4 pairs of true leaves. The crop can be grown in rows, keeping 25 to 30 cm between plants and 60 to 80 cm between rows.

Solo

The crop adapts to various soil types, but prefers well-drained, light and fertile soils. The pH should be between 6.5 and 7.0.

Clima

The optimal temperature for growth is between 4 and 28°C, preferring locations with good sun exposure and avoiding overly humid spots.

Fertilização

Being a perennial crop, it should be noted that the base fertilisation must also take the medium/long term into account. The application of compost is therefore essential and, if needed, the addition of a natural mineral fertiliser rich in phosphorus and/or potassium may be considered.

Rega

Watering should keep the soil moist without waterlogging, as both excess and lack of water are harmful. Drip irrigation is a great option for this crop.
